30 Days of April: April 30

30 on 30 of 30.

30 miles on the 30th day of 30 Days of April challenge. I didn't have this as a goal when I started out, but as I was riding my route I thought why not end the challenge with 3 30s! And so I did.

Riding through some of my usual neighborhood loops, I could see some remnants of the Great Mukilteo Garage Sale in the form of ------ trash. Piles of "stuff" await the annual "everything pick up" by Waste Management. One person's trash is another person's treasure --- but not all of it ;'-)

On my rides I often find my own treasures, or road swag.

A very good find with a lot of tape left on the roll.

After some basic loops, skipping most of the cul de sacs, I went on to the little town(?) of Perrinville where I knew there would be a tea and crumpet place.

Passing by a local park I pulled in to see the fields and the skate park.

No one here today so it is an empty skate park

Finally I got to my earned tea stop.

It was rather busy inside and I chose a table outdoors as there was sun!

Stash Green Tea and an orange roll. Yummmm.

While sitting at my table with my treat, a man and wife walked out of the Bistro and toward my table. She said "did you ride here for Harbor Point? We live there and I recognize your bunny ears." She gave me a little applause and said "good for you". I didn't feel I had ridden that far, but to those who do not ride it was quite a distance.

Each time I think I will take off the bunny ears I get some really nice comments, smiles, thumbs up or horn toots. Today a gentleman stopped his car (on a very light traffic neighborhood roadway), rolled down his window and said "nice hat".

But I guess it is time to crop my helmet and get rid of the ears until next year. I will keep my eye open for other fun helmet toppings for later in the season. I do have Olaf from the movie Frozen that is always a hit, but that is for December.

  1. Well...you have completed your 30 days and so great to have done 30 miles on that day too. And you even had some sun.
This is a fun post and the skate boarding figure on the metal railing is quite imaginative.

Your total for the month is very impressive.

  2. Thanks Meta. It has been a fun challenge and I enjoyed blogging about it. I'm glad you enjoyed reading as well. Thanks for following along, and for all your comments. It's always nice to read comments here. I plan to post more, but not as often as I have in April!
