ENDING MAY RIDES/PHOTOS #91-93

#91 May 26, 2021

Not as sunny as it would have been nice to have, but a good riding day for the three of us. Cindy planned out our route and invited our Swissies group (SWS - Secret Women’s Society) for the ride and/or for the lunch afterward. Cindy, Kathy and I rode and Linda and Elaine joined us for the lunch hour (which as usual, was more like two hours). Two of our troop were MIA — otherwise occupied, but even this number of five have not been together for more than a year. It was such a delight to share time, our woes, our funny stories and our laughter together. Precious moments.

Lunch was at El Paraiso Mexican which I posted on May 4th (Quattro de Mayo ride).

I saw mama and her ducklings looking for a way to get to the pond that was securely fenced. She kept getting to a dead end that fenced her out. I rode along the fence and saw there were no openings for her to access the pond. So I rode behind and next to the family, kind of corralled them, being careful not to stress out mama, to shepherd them to the open gate they had passed way back there. Mama guided her brood through the gate and I think she was happy to now be able to access the pond.

They kind of blend in well with the background, but were so daggone cute!

This is from our weekend on Whidbey Island and there will be a separate post for that coming soon ;’-).

#93 May 31, 2021

On Memorial Day Susan and I rode from home to Everett for lunch at the waterfront. I didn’t get a photo of that, and we did have a nice lunch sitting on the bench on the lawn outside of the Jetty Bar and Grill. I did get this photo of the bunny that was with a picnicking family who had it on a leash. This is a BIG bunny! We found this to be a great way to spend Memorial Day holiday — no traffic and doing our own thing.

This brings us to the end of May — June has already begun and I am behind here. Always playing catch up it seems.
