FALL 2019 ADVENTURE #4: QUEBEC

I may have lost count, but we will call this #4. Susan has opted out of joining me for this one, and I am with  three riding buddies: Linda, Kathy and Brenda. We are off for a Road Scholar Adventure bike tour in Quebec. The carpools met up at Linda’s where her daughter Whitney would so nicely drive the four of us to the airport for our 10:40 p.m. flight — that’s 10:40 p.m.! What you cannot see is the back of Whitney’s car piled high with all our luggage. We do not, or cannot, travel light ;’-0

Time at the airport seemed to fly by and we were soon on our American Airlines flight to Philadelphia where we would get our connecting flight to Burlington Vermont. We did enjoy a cuppa and here they are at the “gaming” table at the Philadelphia airport. We are having fun already!

Each of us tried to sleep during this nighttime flight, and some were more successful than others. With a three hour time change for us from Seattle, we arrived at Burlington airport at 9:30 a.m. (Vermont time).

First things first — we found a place to have breakfast. We didn’t have to search very far as the Skinny Pancake (meaning crepes) was right where we got off the plane.

Kathy may have made the best choice! But the rest of us also enjoyed our egg/crepe wrap.

You know you are in Vermont when you see these woven rocking chairs...

....and the mountain climber...

...and the Welcome Sign.

Having four plus hours to wait for our van shuttle, we each took our strolls around the (very) small airport. Ronald was there.

Seeing two bicycles hanging on the wall to the exit of the airport caught my interest.

The poster next to the bikes told me what these are about.

City employees can use these for work or play, and they are located throughout the city. Doesn’t surprise me at all, being Vermont the original earth saving state, in my opinion and memory.

Then we discovered the upstairs ‘garden lounge’ where you could do anything from relaxing, reading or napping.

Hopefully this prop plane is not the one to return us home...

Now we will wait for our shuttle to our lodge in Sutton Ontario.
